Artifact Description
This artifact is a certification stating that I was a participant of the LCMS 2014 Early Childhood Conference. This conference lasted for seven hours and I went to two different seminars. The seminars included one on ADHD and “Science is Fun”.
Alignment Reflection
This artifact is aligned with the INTASC Standard 9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practices. This certificate shows that beyond my schooling I engage in ongoing professional learning. At this conference I learned different ways that children with ADHD think and comprehend ideas. The second seminar presented many ways that science can be incorporated into the classroom as well as multiple science experiments that can be performed with my future students
Personal Reflection
During my time at this conference, I learned many valuable activities and knowledge that I will be sure to incorporate into my classroom. The information that I learned about students with ADHD will inform my future practice and will help me differentiate my instruction. I got to hear other teachers talk about their observations within their own classrooms and experiences they have had. It was nice hear about their perspective of students with ADHD. This conference was my first but it has showed me participating in different conferences will allow me to learn about the most current education policies and research to improve my practice as a teacher.
